Push Pull Print III – Esther Sternberg

Esther is becoming another Push Pull Print success story. I had the opportunity to meet Esther at the 2011 New Hope Arts and Crafts Festival. She was a visitor at my booth and I showed her a postcard for the then upcoming 2011 Push Pull Print event in Newtown. She said she wanted to participate in my next show. The 2011 show entries had already been closed so we needed to wait an entire year.

I contacted her in about 6 months to start prepping her for the next show.

What do you know about screen printing? I asked. I don’t recall exactly her direct response, but it boiled down to barely anything. Can you stop by so I can show you the process so you can get an idea as to what it is we will be doing? She was more than willing to do this. Great! Where are you coming from and what does your schedule look like? Esther told me she lives in Staten Island New York….(I’m in Doylestown, PA at least an hour and a half away). Ahhhhhh…..ok…..well I would hate to see you come down here just for 10-15 minutes of time.

I ended up sending Esther some Youtube links of general screen printing videos that I thought best represented an introduction to the process we would be going through. I feel Esther truly pushed herself on this project as she truly had no idea what was involved. AND she did a 3 color print which means she traveled from Staten Island New York on 3 different occasions!!!

I also mentioned Esther becoming another Push Pull Print success story. I saw she has a show coming up in Newtown, PA and is placing artwork in New Hope, PA. 2 locations she was not in prior to becoming involved in the Push Pull Print screen printed art show. Be sure to check out her efforts and wonderful piece!
