When Blossoms Unfold – Loretta Luglio

Loretta Luglio’s “Red Poppies” (shown left) was recently selected to participate in the juried Byers Choice Art Show held at the Travis Gallery in New Hope earlier this month. She has also been selected to show at our “When Blossoms Unfold” art show. An art show that asks artists to “push the boundaries”.

When asked to describe her style and intentions for this upcoming show she has this to say:

I consider myself a traditional studio painter with a contemporary edge to my work.  My primary medium is oil but I do some soft pastel and watercolor also.

I like a bright, vibrant palette and lately it has become ‘warmer’, incorporating a lot of reds, yellows, oranges and purple.  I do landscapes, but also like wildlife (especially birds) and still life.

For this show I will be keeping the floral theme in a landscape setting.  I would love to create a Landscape in a dreamlike setting, using color to create the mood. I will do my work on 2″ deep canvas, painted all sides.
